PPD2 blog 4
For PPD2 I thought I would do a
qaudraped mammal in order to show that I have a good understanding of how
animals work, as they move differently to humans. As a 3d rigger I need to show
a good understanding of antanomy.
Following the method of the bird
modelling turtorial I started off with a plane
I then applied it to the plane and then create a new uv so
it would show up properly
I then created a cube and then positioned it on the body of
the dog within the front view
I then scaled it up
Going back to the normal view I selected the face and then
selected the extrude option
I then moved it out and selected the vertices and adjusted
them to match the body of the image
Repeating this process I went back to the normal view and
selected the face and went on the extrude option
I then went onto the front view and pulled the face out
Then going back to the normal view I selected the face and
went on the extrude option again
In the front view I pulled it out, then I select the
vertices and began to move them out
After I went back to the normal view, selected the face and
went onto the extrude option
In the front view I pulled the new face out
Then I selected the vertices and position them in the shape
of the image
I repeated the extruding method
The went back to the front view and pulled it out
In the front view I added a new edge
Then adjusted the vertices into the shape of the dog head
I then went back to the normal view and selected the head
and extruded it
In the front view I moved it out
I then adjusted the vertices
I then extruded the face again
Pulled it out
Going back to the normal view I extruded the face again
I moved the vertices in the front view
Repeating the extrude method again
I then moved them again in order to form the snout
I then went to the normal view in Maya and went to the back
of the mesh, selected the face and went onto the extrude option
I decided to end the work at this point here for today
